Individual Therapy
CoolKid Psychology provides individual therapy for children and adolescents that experience the following concerns;

Telehealth
CoolKid Psychology offers individual therapy sessions via Zoom. Our Clinicians will continue to offer these services to families experiencing challenges accessing the clinic for their appointments.
Group Programs
We occasionally run group programs through the school terms. We typically arrange these programs to support the needs of families accessing our services. It is important to us that the children attending programs are well matched in age and/or ability.

Assessments
Reduced Cost Assessment Clinic
CoolKid Clinic offers reduced cost assessment services to families. This service is provided by provisional psychologists supervised by Kim Sheppard in addition to supervision provided by associated Universities. Assessments available include the Wechsler Scales (WISCV/ WPPSI & WIAT) and Social Emotional measures (BASC3, SRS2, ABAS3).
Neurodevelopmental
CoolKid Clinic provides assessment services for neurodevelopmental presentations such as Autism and ADHD. We use a thorough collection of gold standard testing measures to ensure a comprehensive assessment.
Cognitive
CoolKid Clinic provides assessment of cognitive abilities and we use various measures to determine the current level of functioning for the client. We use standardised measures accepted by the NDIS and DEET for access to relevant funding streams. CoolKid uses iPad’s to administer the Wechsler Scales (WPPIS, WISCV, WAIS).
Educational
CoolKid provides educational assessments using various measures to determine current level of academic skill attained across a range of areas. CoolKid Clinic provides assessments relevant to diagnosis Specific Learning Disorders such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
Social – Emotional
In addition to cognitive and academic assessments, CoolKid provides social-emotional testing. We understand that in order to accurately interpret a client cognitive and academic performance we must also consider a clients mood (anxiety and depression) in addition to an investigation of a clients social skill development. This information combined provides the client with a detailed picture of their strengths and weakness across a range of areas allowing for a deep understanding go their personal profile and allowing for the development of specific goals across a range of areas.
Supervision
Kim Sheppard, Clinic Director and Principal Child and Adolescent Psychologist, is a Board Approved Supervisor. Kim’s areas of interest are Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD) in children, adolescents and adults, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Non Suicidal Self Harm, Anxiety, Social Play and Communication skills and supporting families. Kim has extensive experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and now works from a neurodiverse affirmative perspective leading her to work more from a play based and collaborative approach in supporting children and families.
