PSYCHOLOGIST – Part Time/Contractor

We seek to connect with psychologists who are kind, friendly, and passionate about the work they do. Previous experience in private practice work is not required, however experience working with children (primary school aged) is. This role would suit someone interested in a mi of therapy and neurodevelopmental assessment work. We value good humans with suitable experience and consider this before a person’s degree or qualification. Who you are and how you connect with others matters more than what you have studied, or how you became registered.

WHO WE ARE:

CoolKid Psychology is a Melbourne based private practice that provides mental health supports and assessment services to children and adolescents. We also support parents as they navigate the journey of raising their children. More than this, we are passionate about serving others. We LOVE what we do and helping others in a way that is meaningful to them brings us endless joy.

Our practice values guide the work that we do and how we interact with others.

Humility: ‘Confidence without humility, breeds arrogance’. We are skilled, we know that we don’t know, what we don’t know, and we are okay with this. This drives us to continue to learn, and to be willing and okay with making mistakes as they mean we are closer to excellence than we were before.

Integrity: we say what we will do, and we do what we say. We abide by our professional and ethical guidelines.

Perseverance: we are passionate about supporting people even when it’s hard to do, takes a long time, and when the ‘wins’ are seemingly small. Every movement in the desired direction matters and we celebrate this. We understand that there are many personal, community and cultural barriers to access support.

Curiosity: We approach supports and problems with a curious mind. We remain open to alternative options and the perspectives of others. We take the time to ensure we understand life from the perspective of the client and remain curious as we learn this.

Transparency: We are clear about who we support and how we provide that support. We are open about our services, fees and skills and provide information with clients in a way that matches this.

Accountability: We own our mistakes and use the experience to learn to do better and be better. We celebrate our client’s wins, our own wins, and our collective team wins.
